How MeetFarms Works
A new social media platform for agriculture
MeetFarms connects the people who grow food with the people who eat it. Consumers discover farms and products, read farm updates, and connect directly with producers. Farms share their story, offerings, and updates, and build relationships with their community โ all in one place. Trust and transparency are central: clear producer identity, transparent sourcing, and direct connection.

MeetFarms is also exploring voluntary, seller-funded 10% discounts for shoppers purchasing from participating .farms businesses after launch. Availability and terms would depend on each seller โ sellers, not DOTFRM, fund any discount, and participation is never required.
๐ก๏ธ .farms digital identities
Distinct from ordinary websites
A .farms identity is an optional agricultural digital identity that signals a real, working farm. It is distinct from an ordinary HTTPS website and is not required to use MeetFarms. Today, .farms identities are part of a limited pilot, and access to a raw .farms address may require one-time browser or device setup โ they do not always open in ordinary unconfigured browsers.
Every farm also has a regular MeetFarms profile you can visit directly, so you can always reach the farm whether or not a .farms identity is configured.
MAHA ยท My Agricultural Health Assistant
A separate meal-planning application
MAHA โ My Agricultural Health Assistant โ is a separate application with an available early version at dotmaha.com. Explore AI-assisted meal ideas and connections to participating farms in MAHA’s early version. MAHA is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or part of any government agency or government initiative, and offers general nutrition information only โ not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
๐ Free farm website offer
Free starter farm website for the first 20 eligible survey participants
One starter site per eligible business, with 12 months free hosting, basic SEO, and a requested .farms name.
This free starter website offer becomes available only when MeetFarms goes live. The survey is open now โ respondents may record a preferred .farms name today โ but no site or name is awarded, registered, or hosted before launch. After launch, DOTFRM (Brian) will review completed eligible responses in submission order and contact the first 20 qualifying businesses, subject to requested name availability.
DOTFRM (Brian) is the only seller of these websites. The first 20 eligible farms and local food businesses โ including processors, butchers, canners, and farm markets โ located in Clinton, Eaton, Ingham, or Ionia counties that complete the full Michigan Agricultural Needs Survey may receive one starter site each with 12 months of free hosting beginning when each site goes live, basic SEO setup, and a requested .farms name. The starter site is a mobile-friendly one-page website on a platform-provided ordinary HTTPS URL. Each eligible participant receives one site to use โ with no right to resell, transfer, or market sites. Allocation is first come, first served by completed eligible survey submission timestamp, subject to name availability and manual eligibility verification โ no automatic award, no guaranteed selection, and no live remaining-spots counter.
Requested .farms names need at least 11 characters before .farms; MeetFarms never guarantees automatic registration or a specific requested name, and a .farms name may require compatible resolution to open. Every hosted site also has an ordinary HTTPS link that works in any browser. This pilot offer is separate from a paid .farms domain and website, and MeetFarms never guarantees domain registration. Custom domains, ecommerce, ongoing SEO, and ads are excluded; no ranking guarantees; no automatic paid renewal.
